This is a joint blog by Kelly Murphy, Founder and CTO, Gridstore and Tom Rose, Chief Marketing Officer, Unidesk.
We had a great time the other day presenting on a very interactive webinar with Dave Kawula, Microsoft MVP. The topic was Breakthrough Economics for VDI – how Gridstore HyperConverged Infrastructure coupled with Unidesk application layering technology and Microsoft Remote Desktop Services (RDS) enable virtual desktops to be implemented for far less than the cost of physical PCs - $550 per user “all-in.”
We were asked many, many questions during the webinar and while we answered a lot, there were still a number that we didn’t get to. We’ve put together the answers to those questions as well as the results of our VDI survey in this blog. Dave also presented a live demo of the Gridstore/Unidesk VDI solution. If you weren’t able to attend, we highly recommend you watch the webinar replay to learn how your business can benefit from this solution.Microsoft Partner, Webinar, Gridstore, Partner | Read this post >
This week we announced a new technology alliance partnership with Gridstore, a fast-growing provider of hyper-converged, all-flash infrastructure for data centers using Windows Server and Hyper-V. This is a great example of a customer-led alliance. Before we even started working together, joint customers figured out that Gridstore HCI with Unidesk and Windows Server RDS could deliver super-fast virtual desktops that are easier to manage than PCs. At only $500-600 per user all-in! Finally, VDI for far less than the cost of PCs!
Infrastructure performance. Complexity. Cost. The 3 big blockers to VDI have fallen with our new alliance. What's unique about the combination of Gridstore and Unidesk that ushers in this new era of VDI price/performance? What are our customers and Microsoft saying about the combination? Let's take a look.Microsoft Partner, Unidesk, Gridstore | Read this post >
Before we attended the Microsoft MVPDays events in Canada with several of our new Microsoft Hyper-V ecosystem partners, we held a joint webinar with one of them - 5nine Software. 5nine is a fast-growing provider of virtual firewall, antivirus, and intrusion detection solutions. One thing Unidesk and 5nine have in common is agentless management, a key requirement for virtualized environments and workloads like VDI. Here's a short recap of what was discussed in the webinar about why agentless matters.Microsoft Hyper-V, Microsoft Partner | Read this post >
